This is easily my favorite of the bunch. I do admit I put most effort into this one, and for two reasons:
1 - It's a gift to my dad, and he loves ducks even more than I do
2 - As mentioned in 1, I love ducks, especially painting them.
When I was younger I used to enter the Junior National Duck Stamp Competition. Each state would have a winner, and the winners of each state would compete for the final. I was always runner up to winning behind this other guy, but I lost focus. I'd like to do it again someday.
I referenced a photo that I took at the zoo. It still has some things that bug me, and I think deserves to be on a large canvas someday. Until then, I hope you all enjoy =]

Beautifully done, you render the water so well... the unusual colours give it a realistic flare! The feathers are beautifully detailed, and you captured the shape of a Cinnamon teal beautifully! I may have suggested more shadows, but it would be a shameful sacrifice of details, especially with watercolour. You have fabulous technique with a medium that is infamously difficult to control.... fantastic job!!!
It was a really bright day out when I took the original photo (you can see the shadow on the right side there) so there weren't too many to add I guess. Plus it's a photo (of the painting) and not a scan so that might not help it too much x]
Thank you very much! ^_^
Nature stuff is what I started doing when I got into art, and it's still a favorite genre of mine. I really want to do more, so hopefully there will be many more like this! =]
Ducks are amazing <3
