What is he looking at...Fire? A demon? Or perhaps a neon sign to a bar he's not sure he really wants to go into, because you know, that girl was there last time and she was weird. Like, not the 'oh you just need to know them' kinda weird, but she was pretty much all over his drink, not to mention she took the damn cherry. Yuk, why would he want to eat that now?
