It makes a difference how you send money

Hey guys! I just wanted to give a heads up or reminder on using Paypal.
This is really really important, so if you send money to people via Paypal please read!

This applies mostly if you send money through paypal for things like merchandise/items or commissions online (that is not through a store - in other words typing in their email to send money)

Please keep in mind that if you are buying an item or service, you need to mark it correctly. Please do not send payments for items or commissions as gifts (family and friends). This might seem like a really nice thing to do for the artist -I thought so too when I first started using Paypal-, but in actuality you are risking their account to get flagged, locked, or banned. They might just get a warning first but I'm unsure about how their first reaction is.

This is serious. Please don't do it.

I know there are artists out there that ask for you to send money as a gift/friends and family so a fee isn't taken out, but they should not be doing it.

Basically, this is how payments should be marked:

:bulletwhite: I'm paying for goods or services - This should be selected when you are purchasing something, like commissions (that's a service), artwork, plushies, books, keychains, etc - anything that is a physical item.

:bulletwhite: I'm sending money to family or friends - Select this if you are sending money to someone that is not for an item or service that they are selling.

That's pretty much it! Remember that artists and sellers expect that Paypal fee to be taken out, so don't worry about that. Thanks for reading! =]

I wish paypal had the option to let me choose "I'm paying for an item, but I want to opt to pay the fee" because I would totally chose that for commissions. Artists get enough chunks taken out of their meager payment.
